How does proportional splitting work?
Each person's share is weighted by the cost of what they ordered. Tax, tip, and discounts are distributed in the same proportion — someone who ordered more pays a larger share of the extras.
Can I split a bill with dietary restrictions?
Yes. Tag participants as Veg or Vegan. Items are auto-classified by name and can be assigned to specific people, so non-vegetarians don't share the salad bill.
We went to multiple places — can I track all of them?
Create an Event, add a venue for each place, and record who paid where. 8bitSplit consolidates everything into the minimum number of transfers at the end.
Why does the settle-up show me paying someone who didn't cover my venue?
Debts are mathematically consolidated to minimise transfers. The total you pay is always exactly your share — it's just routed efficiently through fewer transactions.
